It is a tale rather common in lore,
not all that unique in this world so vast.
There's a timid little dream in my heart,
fragile and afraid of your slightest frown.
If you would smile at me, my soul would soar
and I would wish us together at last.
To be by your side, that's my wished-for part,
though upon your brow I'd place my queen's crown.
The fear of pain keeps guard outside the door
that could lead us both to joy free of past.

Feels like the beginning of a Yuki Kajiura song. I'll play around with it some more. Alas, if only I knew more Japanese!
I wonder if I could fall in love with you
Is there a place where I could see for myself what would happen
if I touched your heart in the melody of loneliness between our souls?

It's just an idle dream that floats by
the river of the night sweeps it past
my hands can't seem to reach it even though I try
is it something meant never to be reached?
